The above was Yusuf Mehdi, the corporate vice president of the Windows and Devices Group at Microsoft's, opening statement at their Worldwide Partner Conference in Canada last year.
At the time we didn't really react as enthusiastically as we should have. Our thinking was; Who didn't upgrade to Windows 10 when it was free? However the key to the above comment is the "enterprise class security". This offers a lot of power for a relatively small fee.

The key features we have noticed that really mark out Enterprise as more useful than Pro are:

A useful tool that can help you easily control which files and apps your users can run. This might not sound like a fantastic extra, but this can significantly reduce help desk calls by implementing software standardization to protect you from potentially unwanted software. It can also help with licensing conformance which for larger scale companies can be a real headache.

This is more of a 'nice to have' admittedly for most smaller businesses, but for a larger company that needs users to agree to its terms of use before logging in this can be invaluable.

Credential Guard may seem trivial, but the amount of help desk tickets that are submitted due to users forgetting passwords can be drastically reduced with this service. Securely storing credentials in an isolated container (using Hyper-V and Virtualization Based Security) is a safe and fast way to reduce calls to your IT Team.

Not to be confused with Credential Guard this is a fantastic security feature for any business device as it gives an organisation the ability to secure devices in a way that provides advanced malware protection against new and unknown malware variants as well as Advanced Persistent Threats (APT's).
